Community Crafting

All classes taught by the Woolen Mill Store have been cancelled which includes classes registered through Portland Community College, and classes registered through our store.

We are offering Community Crafting sessions, open to the public and free of charge, in the interim. Please see the main page of our blog for dates, times, and crafts offered.

Slipcover Stool Class

  • Saturday, January 4, 10 am -1 pm
  • Choose your favorite Pendleton lightweight fabric to cover an IKEA Nils stool.
  • Intermediate; some sewing skill required.

Women’s Coat Class

  • Sunday, January 5, 11 am-4pm
  • One of our most asked-for classes returns! Choose a Pendleton wool jacquard fabric, then use an easy, customizable pattern to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind jacket.
  • Call 503-535-5786 to register and reserve a sewing machine, or bring your own.
  • Space is limited. Fee: $300

Wool Rug Crochet

  • Saturday, January 11, 10 am-noon
  • Crochet a thick, fluffy rug from Pendleton wool scraps in just two hours.
  • Registration is required through Portland Community College.

Throw Pillow Class

  • Sunday, January 12, 11 am-1 pm
  • Make a 16″ x16″ square flap-back throw pillow from your choice of Pendleton wool.

Woven Throw Pillow

  • Saturday, January 18, 10 am-noon
  • Learn about plain weave, using Pendleton Felt Binding to make a pillow front. Then complete a finished pillow using the envelope method with flannel.
